The Helper of the Year

Pain is a difficult matter that affects the person suffering from it all-inclusively. Too often there are headlines about incidents in which society's support has failed. However, there are also those who make the life of a pain patient a little easier but are often left without any acknowledgement.

The Finnish Pain Association wanted to encourage and thank those people and the idea of an award, Helper of the Year, was born in 2003. Everyone can choose freely the person they want to vote for so the votes have gone to private persons as well as health professionals. People who have been voted for have been eg. neighbours, friends, volunteer workers, nurses, doctors, social workers and patient representatives.

Now we are looking for the Helper of the Year 2007. You can vote until the end of February 2008. You can vote by this form or by sending the feedback form in the members magazine via post. Two product prize winners will be randomly drawn from among voters who have included their contact information.
